Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dance. When she was ten, she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach shows and school productions. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It also was the most successful film of 2001. The opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
